Dame Diana Rigg last night claimed controversy surrounding the lesbian TV drama starring daughter Rachael Stirling was a fuss over nothing.
The first episode of BBC2's Tipping the Velvet on Wednesday attracted a huge audience.
Rigg said: "Of course I was glued to the television on Wednesday night.
"I was so proud of Rachael. You cannot imagine the joy I felt when I saw her name come up at the top of the credits.
"But as for the sex scenes, I was not at all embarrassed by them. After all, it was not anything I had not seen before."
